Humidity and temperature Stability enhancement of hybrid organic/inorganic perovskite solar cells (PEROVSTAB)
The field of Perovskite Solar Cell (PSC) is unprecedented. After only 7 years research, PSCs today achieved 25.2 % power conversion efficiency which makes it a desirable solar cell technology. The objective of PEROVSTAB is to promote a new breakthrough in improving the stability of hybrid halide perovskite solar cells. The photophysical properties and dynamic of photo-induced charge transfer processes of all noval materials will be assessed by a complete characterization toolbox composed of s down to ms time scale Intensity Modulated photoVoltage and Photocurrent spectroscopies (IMVS/IMPS) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) under illumination and by ultrafast spectroscopy. The final objective of PEROVSTAB after 15 months research is to reach above 20 % power conversion efficiency and for first time to pass the standard IEC61646 protocol for accelerating thin film PV ageing test (ie. 1000 hours at 60°C/100 mW.cm-2 of light, 1000 hours at 85°C/85 % RH, 200 cycles damp heat test -40°C/85°C with > 80 % PCE retention). PEROVSTAB intends to enhance stability of hybrid halide PSCs towards the standards of more mature PV technologies. PSCs is today the most credible technology to come as a top cell of Si in tandem devices without any substantial elevation of production cost. 28 % power conversion efficiency has already been demonstrated, which was ca. 4 % more than the single Si junction.
